Comparison Essay

There are two things that are on my mind memes and the similarities between this song called “Prayin” and a book called “Parrot in the Oven”.  There are a lot more differences but there are some similarities that go hand and hand. Today we are doing a comparison paper on the song “Prayin” and “Parrot in the Oven”. So let’s start with the differences.

So to start off with the main difference is that Kesha is praying over hard times while Manny doesn’t show any sign of caring. You could say he was just going with the motions. Anyway, in this annoying song she is praying and telling him to pray. Also she is wishing him well, I think. But in “Parrot in the Oven” he doesn’t say anything about being sorry or feeling sorry until after he got out of the gang. This was, and I quote, “I was glad to finally be home after all this time.” even though it says this he happy to be home which means he was sad for leaving it in the first place.

that was the major one. But I’m running out of time so we have to move on. I wasted half of my time on that. Anyway, the biggest similarity was that they were both abused in some way shape or form. Now “Parrot in the Oven” was an easy one to  find abuse in. there’s almost one point of abuse in almost every chapter. It was “Prayin” that was harder to find. But I guarantee that this will change your mind about it. It said “No more monsters, I can breathe again.”. If that’s not enough there’s more. “You brought the flames and you put me through hell.” also in the first stanza.

“Well, you almost had me fooled

Told me that I was nothing without you

Oh, but after everything you’ve done

I can thank you for how strong I have become”

This is all the evidence you need.

but there is one more piece you need for me to show you. The final piece of the puzzle. Why this makes sense. But this major piece comes from the 7th stanza. And I quote.

“Oh, sometimes, I pray for you at night

Someday, maybe someone you’ll see the light

Oh, some say, in life, you’re gonna get what you give

But some things only God can forgive”

In conclusion, these two things are very different. But at the same time they are alike. So in this. I hope you agree with me. Also have a good day.

Parrot in the Oven

Victor Martinez made the book “Parrot in the Oven.” But this day I took the liberty to read it. It start in the southern United States. The conflict is that Manny joins a gang. This is so he can kiss a girl. Soon he wants out of the gang when they rob a store. He learns that being in a gang isn’t as cool as he thought he could be. In all of this  he is abused by the gang. Therefore the theme is that abuse can only make you stronger.

Now we talk about the main body of the essay. One of the most obvious terms of abuse is near the beginning. Manny gets slapped in the face by his father. Also later his father takes twenty dollars right out of his pocket. His father is an alcoholic and took the money to go to Rico’s Pool Hall. In the middle of the book it said that he was bullied by his classmates. It shows him in the hall when two kids come up to him and ask him if they could get into Rico’s Pool Hall. When he says no he asks him about his sister. They ask if they can go out with her. When he says no one of the guys punches him in the face and stomach. Then at the end he gets beat up by a gang, This is so he can get in, then they rob a store. But Manny gets out of it uncharged. When he gets home he is a changed person. This is because he saw what the real world is like. So now he has been changed by the world and everyone that has abused him.

There are a lot of comparisons in this book. One of the most obvious one is when it said “Stabbing her hands in the air like a belly dancer.” this is saying that she was slashing her hand in the air but, slowly. Then there was when the summer came . It said “that summer was a scorcher.” this is saying how hot it was during that summer. There are many more. Like in the middle of the book. It said “waving my hand like it weighed a ton.” this was saying how guilty he was. Those are just a couple. But there are a lot of comparisons.

There is a lot of different word choice in this book that make it look and sound different from others. For example, in the book it say things like “she had about a million freckles.” This is saying that she has a lot of freckles. Yes, this paragraph is all about word choice. There is a lot of it. Like “she had enough wire to run a toy” they were talking about a girl with braces. Then, in the middle of the book it said “finish first” which is alliteration. Also at the end it said “she could make Santa grumble.” First, this is a hyperbole. Lastly, this is saying that she is always grumpy.

this is one of the last paragraphs. Can you guess what it’s about? Yep that’s right details. Those little things that describe everything in the book. Now we will be talking about the little details that make the book. There are many such as “ready to boil over.” Now I know this should be long in the last but it works here. But this is saying how mad she really is. There is a lot more.

In conclusion, this is the proof that proves my theme. This makes one of the themes, getting hurt can only make you stronger. This is important saying you can get stronger from mistakes and getting hurt. There is your proof, Good day.

Introduction to Parrot in the Oven

The book takes place on the southern border of the U.S. The environment

is near a chili pepper field. this is very

different from where we live because

it is mostly hot near the border. Even though it is hot here we have cold cold winter.

Manny is the main character. He lives with a alcoholic father, a mother, and a brother that has been in and out of jobs. Among he goes to school and works in the chili pepper fields. so his life is a pretty hard life.

What has Trump done? (Rough Draft)

No one knows for sure what Trump has planned for America and he said he will do a lot. But What has he done so far? I guess we will find out. Now let’s start with a recent thing, D.A.C.A.. You see D.A.C.A. keeps children safe from deportation. Obama signed this law when he was in office. But now President Trump is trying to repeal this law. This means he can deport the whole family instead of just the parents. It seems most people don’t like it.

Carter says “I do not agree.”

Elliott says “He’s a real racist man.”

As many people wish he hadn’t come into office. You can’t say he didn’t do anything. Now let’s hope he will do something else. Or I’m out of a job.

He is trying very hard to deport as many illegal immigrants as possible. He says he is just doing this to get jobs. Why is he building his wall? Well that’s to get people in legally. But that’s for another day. Anyway this is to get more American job for citizens. But why repeal D.A.C.A.? Well it can be helpful. This means that if the parents have to leave then the family won’t be separated. This instead of the adults leaving the kids for an orphanage or something. But on the other hand to some they are leaving their kids to have a better life.

Picture this, you are a boy that has just had his parents deported. What would you think. When some people think like that they think it’s a good idea. But some are say it wouldn’t happen like that. Which is correct.

In conclusion, if you agree, okay. If you hate him for it, okay. It is your opinion and, I will respect that. Most of you probably already hated him. Anyway, put you opinion below. Have a nice day humans of the people world. This is Tim the toaster signing off.

This is a Uniform Law

Back to you Jeff. Thanks Paulina, at Blackhawk Middle School people were out raged. Coming at you from the scene, Juan. Thank you Jeff. It was here that a gigantic bomb was dropped. Not a real one that is. It happened to the school in first period. Not one person knew what was going to happen. Except for the teachers that is. When Mrs.Oakes, a school administrator, came in the door of most of the classes to spread the news. It was a “special announcement” she said. Then she said that the “the colors could be black and white or colored.”

“At that point I thought it was about a school party or something.” says Aaron Ryan. “I didn’t know what was coming next.” then she said that there would be school uniforms. many witnesses say the rooms blew up in outrage.

There was a witness that doesn’t want to be named. But he said that there was people talking about strikes, a petition, even moving to lane. This brought out mixed emotions to the atmosphere of Blackhawk Middle School. Most were mad, some happy, and some frankly didn’t care. Some were saying this would help. But I can say positively everyone had an opinion. back to you Jeff. Thanks, Juan.

A new breed of cow was produced on a farm in Ohio. It is a mix between a cow chicken and a pig. So now when they kill one animal you can get three foods out of it. Will you be eating it soon. find out after the brake.
