There are two things that are on my mind memes and the similarities between this song called “Prayin” and a book called “Parrot in the Oven”. There are a lot more differences but there are some similarities that go hand and hand. Today we are doing a comparison paper on the song “Prayin” and “Parrot in the Oven”. So let’s start with the differences.
So to start off with the main difference is that Kesha is praying over hard times while Manny doesn’t show any sign of caring. You could say he was just going with the motions. Anyway, in this annoying song she is praying and telling him to pray. Also she is wishing him well, I think. But in “Parrot in the Oven” he doesn’t say anything about being sorry or feeling sorry until after he got out of the gang. This was, and I quote, “I was glad to finally be home after all this time.” even though it says this he happy to be home which means he was sad for leaving it in the first place.
that was the major one. But I’m running out of time so we have to move on. I wasted half of my time on that. Anyway, the biggest similarity was that they were both abused in some way shape or form. Now “Parrot in the Oven” was an easy one to find abuse in. there’s almost one point of abuse in almost every chapter. It was “Prayin” that was harder to find. But I guarantee that this will change your mind about it. It said “No more monsters, I can breathe again.”. If that’s not enough there’s more. “You brought the flames and you put me through hell.” also in the first stanza.
“Well, you almost had me fooled
Told me that I was nothing without you
Oh, but after everything you’ve done
I can thank you for how strong I have become”
This is all the evidence you need.
but there is one more piece you need for me to show you. The final piece of the puzzle. Why this makes sense. But this major piece comes from the 7th stanza. And I quote.
“Oh, sometimes, I pray for you at night
Someday, maybe someone you’ll see the light
Oh, some say, in life, you’re gonna get what you give
But some things only God can forgive”
In conclusion, these two things are very different. But at the same time they are alike. So in this. I hope you agree with me. Also have a good day.
